It's this time of the year….

:)

Soon, we will decorate our houses, get a nice Christmas tree and get ready for nice holidays!

Yes, Christmas is just around the corner now :-D

This is what I made for my Etsy shop, a minimalist Christmas tree hoop art in red and golden.
I have only one listed but I can make more on order. They are 6 inches and £12+pp

Little bags

Hi there, I haven't posted for a little while but I still have been busy creating more artworks for my Etsy shop :)

I am also trying to expand the range of my products and I have been playing with a few ideas for a while.  One idea that I really liked was to make bags.  It would still allow me to use my embroidery skills to decorate them and  I would have the opportunity to play with fabric patterns and colours…

So lately, I have been working on a few bags designs.  I have concentrated my focus on little bags only. They can be used as new baby gift bags, Christmas stocking fillers etc.
I just wanted to share with some pictures with you.

The first batch was a mini tote bag design with appliqué. The appliqués have been made with the free embroidery technique.

The second batch is made of mini drawstring bags.   For these models, I focused on new baby gift bag. The blue one will be a gift for a little boy born not so long ago. It has his name hand embroidered on it.  The second one I made is for little girls. This model is fully lined and the string casing has been sewn on the exterior of the bag. I have embroidered a little pink heart (free motion embroidery) on the front.

I am very happy with them and I am really considering starting to sell them online. The design possibilities are infinite and it is really great to make something nice and useful :)

Take care! :)

Handmade felt book

It was hard work, it took me hours of stitching and stitching and stitching….
But what a pleasure to hold the finished book in my hands!!!

The cover is made with fabric and the inside pages with felt.
For my first toddler book, I chose to play with the aquatic world.

The book is really tiny for tiny little hands.

I tried to choose contrasted colours because I know little ones apprehend it better and they love it.

And then I just had fun playing with a few representations of what you possibly can find under the sea :)

Possibilities are endless and it is difficult to stick to only a few designs… (I am sure that if I ever make another one about the Sea, there will be an Octopus!!!)

But due to its small size, the book can not be too big with too many pages… plus, it is really a time consuming artwork and to keep the project nice and fun, I can't spend endless hours on it…

Last embroidery creations

These last days I haven't really been able to work for my shop.
I am missing it quite a lot but hey, that is the way it is.

Still, I managed to create these two embroidery hoops.
I have been really happy to hand embroidered them
( although the sheep still has a few machine sewing stitches).

I really enjoyed playing with patterns and colours and create little "sceneries".
To me, each hoop tells a little story and it really makes me happy :)

Last creations

So lately, I have been making more houses. I really enjoy building these little crooked things :)  They have been cut into remnants of different fabrics and appliquéd on a white cotton background. They are entirely hand embroidered.

And I have also made a new bird. This one has been made with the sewing machine again, with th free motion embroidery technique.

Spring colours

Lately, I have been inspired a lot by the revival of the nature around me.
We had some lovely walks in our area and it's always wonderful to glimpse at new flowers blooming and trees getting green again.

My last embroidery speak of spring, of new bloom of smell and colours.

They taste spring, they have the colours of spring!

Its very colourful and happy, I am pleased with the result :)

Free motion embroidery and appliqués.

My three last creations!

I have been really enjoying using my sewing machine to draw and create directly on the fabric.
This free motion / free hand method requires a little bit of training of course, but the results are so beautiful!  It allows for so much freedom and creativity, that my mind is constantly mixing colours, patterns for new ideas and designs.

A sailor and the sea

Spring is here, the weather is getting better (well, it's Uk, it's still a bit chilly of course)
and I am starting to think of Holidays by the Seaside.
But, wait, I live by the seaside :) Yay, soon, we'll head to the beach for long days playing with the sea and building sandcastles and eating ice creams!

Can't wait!

Wishing you all a nice week end :)

More pictures of the little sailor in my Etsy shop if you want to^^

Days at the farm

Last January we flew to France to spend some times at my parents farm. In there they grow organic chickens, make their own bread and marmalades and  have a wonderful vegetable garden!

Alas it was winter! So no fruits picking or garden watering this time!  Instead we spent lovely days inside the house close to the fire place and sometimes we did ventured outside, in our rubber boots trying not to slip and fall in the mud. It was lots of fun!!

Here is first selection of a few pictures I took while I was there. Due to bag restrictions in the plane, I had left my big camera at home, shame :(  Plus, it is pretty hard to take pictures while having an eye on a happy toddler wanting to discover everything!!!!
